What does the HSC do?
The HSC promotes health and healthy lifestyles to New Zealanders. The main way we do this is through social marketing. Our current focus is on:

Reducing the incidence and prevalence of smoking.
Increasing sun safe behaviours.
Preventing and minimising gambling harm.
Healthy eating.


Where does the money come from?
The HSC is funded by the New Zealand government through a purchase agreement with the Ministry of Health.


What are you?
The HSC is a New Zealand crown agency that promotes health and encourages healthy lifestyles.

Who’s in charge?
The HSC is currently governed by a board of six people who are appointed by the Minister of Health. Members of the board are:
