Working with others

Working with others such as frontline workers, communities and national and regional organisations enables us to:

  • gain wider buy-in and ownership of our programmes and initiatives
  • support regional and community-based delivery of initiatives
  • seek wide input into programmes
  • manage expectations and perceptions of key audiences and potential partners
  • keep people informed during the delivery and development of the initiatives.

Supporting frontline services

We support frontline service providers such as doctors, nurses, health promoters, educators and counsellors by providing evidence, materials (health promotion resources), advice and training to make their work more effective and efficient.

HSC works directly with communities to help them determine (and implement) the best way to address their local health issues.

Working closely with community-based, communithy-owned, and community-led organisations helps us build relationships, share information, consult, collaborate, empower and support.

Working with national and regional agencies

As we are a national agency based solely in Wellington we rely on delivery mechanisms and networks outside of what we can provide. Some of those are through national and regional organisations eg, DHBs, primary health organisations, National Heart Foundation, Problem Gambling Foundation while others are through organisations that are more specific to their community eg, iwi and community interest groups.

Working with national and regional organisations enables us to build relationships, connect better with people in their communities, and provide them with meaningful support.
